ELVeS Radial – How it works

The clinically proven Endo Laser Vein System (ELVeS®) was developed by biolitec AG as an innovative all-in-one solution for treating varicose veins. Used in conjunction with ELVeS® RADIAL, the world’s first radial emitting laser probe, this unique system opens up a whole new range of technical possibilities for laser treatment of varicose veins.
The combination of the special wavelength and the radial emission of the ELVeS Radial fiber enables high efficiency and maximum patient comfort, unlike conventional optical fiber systems, which emit energy in a forward direction only.
Not all lasers are the same!
ELVeS® Radial represents a minimally invasive operation that is performed on an out-patient basis under local anesthesia, and only takes about 30 - 45 minutes.
In this procedure, the ELVeS Radial probe is inserted into the affected vein through a small puncture site. The probe is then used to direct the laser light into the vein using targeted radial emission and to close the vein photo-thermally.
Since the procedure only requires a small puncture site rather than incisions or stitches, the patient is left with no scars. Patients experience little or no pain during or after the procedure. Patients can also resume normal activities immediately after treatment with ELVeS® Radial.
